Une équipe espagnole dirigée par Jose Manuel Galan a mis à jour à Louxor une image unique: la représentation de face d'un pharaon. Cette représentation se trouve sur un rectangle de bois stuqué et carroyé de 50X31cms. Les morceaux ont été collectés entre 2002 et 2003 et patiemment réassemblés. Ce portrait constituait probablemnt un modèle pour la statuaire, ou un exercice d'étudiant car il est assez maladroitement réalisé. Il représenterait soit Thoutmosis III, soit Hatchepsout.
Il devrait être exposé au musée de Louxor.

Egyptologists have pieced together fragments of the first known ancient portrait of a pharaoh (either Thutmosis III or Hatchepsut)drawn from the front rather than in profile. The wooden board is 50 by 31cm and covered in creamy-yellow stucco. The drawing is in black paint, with a square red grid of the kind used to copy proportions. Galan speculated that the royal portrait was either a sketch for a statue or a casual drawing of the kind art students made to show off their skills or for amusement

The restoration of the Qaroun complex in Fayoum, which started 18 months ago, has recently been completed. The most important monument is the restored temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, who was worshipped in Fayoum.

Un article sur l'égyptomanie en Suisse à l'occasion de l'exposition Bäloise "Toutankhamon, l'or de l'Au-Delà". Qui proclame entre autre, fort justement, "l'égyptophilie peut saisir tout un chacun, quel que soit son âge".
Il existe plusieurs sous articles: "L'égyptomanie en neuf dates "; "Égypte ancienne: pourquoi un tel amour? "; "Michel Vallogia, en direct des fouilles d'Abou Rawash ".

Il n'est pas de coutume dans cette rubrique de news de relayer les annonces de programmes radio ou TV. Mais je vais faire une exception.
En effet cette série annoncée se veut grandiose, couvrant 1500 ans d'histoire, et avec des dialogues en Ancien Égyptien (!!). Budget pharaonique, effets spéciaux stupéfiants.
La série est une coproduction soutenue par Canal+ en France, Channel 4 en Grande-Bretagne, TLC aux Etats-Unis, NDR en Allemagne, Rai Uno en Italie, TV Asahi au japon et Seven Network en Australie, et a été vendue dans le monde entier.
