TOMBS OF ELKAB

 Location
The site of Elkab is little known, thus we have prepared a special page to present it : " The site of Elkab"

PAHERI
The powerful nomarch of Elkab dug for himself, in the hillside, a simple tomb, but it is decorated with rich iconography which associates both civil and religious scenes.
AHMOSE, SON OF ABANA
This is the best known tomb in Elkab. Although a small tomb it is famous because it contains the well known war chronicles of the crew commander Ahmose, who was a man of valour, who served under three different Pharaohs. It represents the only historic source dealing with the expulsion of the Hyksos.
SETAU
Nomarch of Elkab and first prophet of Nekhbet, XXth dynasty.
RENNI
Overseer of the priests of Nekhbet, during the time of Amenhotep I, at the beginning of the XVIIIth dynasty.
