TOMBS OF THE SITE OF NEW AMADA, LOWER NUBIA

PENNUT
Because of its historical importance and the quality of its reliefs, the chapel was included in the campaign to rescue the Nubian monuments. Initially located at Aniba (ancient Miam), the chapel was cut out of it’s place in the rock and transported to the site of New Amada. Pennut was “Deputy” (Idenu) from Wawat (Lower Nubia) under the reign of Ramesses VI.
